February in Fort Lauderdale is an extremely busy time of year. All the most popular maritime schools such as Professional Yacht Training (PYT), Maritime Professional Training (MPT) and Blue Water Training (BW) are in full swing offering a variety of classes. The green yachties who are looking to start their career will take the STCW introductory class and will typically stay in a shared crew house. Living in crew quarters is not only budget friendly but allows the newbies the opportunity to learn the lay of the land, network, and gain as much experience as possible. Those more experienced crew members, who are looking to advance their education and careers, will take more demanding classes. Many maritime students, who don’t plan ahead and book their classes, typically end up on waiting lists.
If you aren’t coming into FLL, for classes, you are most likely going to attend the various Boat Shows. These shows bring hundreds of thousands of visitors and are an incredible opportunity to find permanent and temporary work, as well as network with like-minded marine personnel. The Miami Boat show is from February 16th to February 20th 2022. The Palm Beach Boat show is a little later in the year from March 24 until March 27th 2022. Both shows bring large crowds, are a must-do!

This short-term rental apartment is fully furnished and perfect for a crew member or vacationer looking for an extremely comfortable stay. With its open plan feel, spacious living room and fully equipped kitchen, you don’t need to leave home! There are floors, leather sofas, a large flat screen TV and a washer/dryer inside the apartment. Brand new mini-split A/C units, ensuring you can control the temperature and are comfortable during your stay. For larger families on holiday, or yacht crew who want more living space, this 2-bedroom/2-bathroom short-term rental is simply perfect! Modern, bright and on a quiet cul-de-sac street. Enjoy the tranquility of watching the boats pass by on the canal as you enjoy the outdoor space. Dockage may be available – please inquire. The kitchen is fully equipped and modern, with granite countertops, stainless steel appliances (a dishwasher and garbage disposal) and a high-top breakfast bar. The kitchen overlooks the spacious dining room that seats 6 people. Each bedroom can be set up as 2 twin beds or 1 King bed. There are 2 large modern bathrooms with glassed in shower doors. 3. Belle Vista
This lovely rental house sleeps 6-8 people and is only blocks from SE 17th Street. It has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms, which is very usual but a most welcome amenity. The bedrooms are large with flat screen TVs, and have bed configuration flexibility which allows us to accommodate couples and singles. The outdoor space is as lovely as the house with its large deck and beautiful crystal blue pool. The kitchen is truly gourmet, with granite countertops and stainless-steel appliances. It's extremely large and overlooks the high-top bar area and dining space. There is a lovely and bright living room with leather sofas and a flat screen TV.
