Meet the Chef
Chef Peter Ziegelmeier is a robust character coming from a large German-Italian family born in Long Island, NY. His unmatched passion for cooking and cuisine and his love of the ocean has led him to the yachting industry. Shortly after graduating from the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, NY, the chef was off to begin his adventures upon the high seas and headed to Ft. Lauderdale, Florida.
Prior to the world of yachting the chef has had a whirlwind career in corporate, mom and pop, country club, and casino cuisine cultures. The chef, also an avid photographer has
taken all the delightful color photos that you will peruse whilst beginning your new culinary adventures with his new book, Chef Peter Ziegelmeier’s Dreams of A Yacht Chef – Food For Thought. The book allows your inner chef to come out and play by supplying a playground for inspiration and creativity. A journal style approach to your soon to be family heirloom, his new book will inspire your passion for cooking to emerge again and again.
Support the Cause
Student chefs who attend the ARC Broward Culinary Institute are offered real-
world job training by working The Traveling Plate culinary experiences and catering events facilitated by the Institute. MICF exists to unite people in the maritime community with the local community to harness the resources available to raise monies, awareness and support for local charitable organizations serving children and families.
Since 2010, MICF has raised more than $650,000 to help families in need. We are grateful to ARC Broward for sharing The Traveling Plate with MICF to help introduce our supporters to their phenomenal program and wonderful students who are proving that people with disabilities and other life challenges can realize their full potential.
